Homemade Christmas Ornaments- a great project for the kids!

What a fun way to keep the kiddos occupied during Christmas break...and a great way for them to make a neat Christmas gift!

All you need is flour, salt, and water!

We added 1/2 tablespoon of salt to every tablespoon of flour then added water little by little until it was about the consistency of play-doh. 

Shape as desired then place a hole to thread the ribbon through. (Suggestion: make the shapes no more than about 1/4" thick so they're not too heavy).  Place on a cookie sheet lined with either aluminum foil or wax paper and bake at 250 until dry. Flip about every 5-6 minutes. Once cooled, paint and decorate as desired then thread with ribbon to hang on your Christmas tree (or give as a gift!!).

The Walton County Fire Dept participated in Fire Safety Day at the Monroe Home Depot.

The Home Depot held their Kids' Workshop in conjunction with Fire Safety Day.

• Amici Italian Cafe in Downtown Monroe is a great place to watch the GA Bulldogs game this afternoon (kickoff is at 12:20PM) and they have a big screen projector ready to go along w/all kinds of menu deals!

• Today is Heritage Day at the William Harris Homestead in Monroe. They'll be celebrating until 4:PM and will have all kinds of fun activities for the kids including hayrides, face painting and a petting zoo. Admission fees can be viewed here.

• Singer Michael Moore will be performing tonight at Time Well Spent Coffee in Loganville. While you're there, try a Pumpkin Pie Latte!

Freedom Fest is happening in Monroe on July 4th!

FREEDOM FEST is happening on the 4th of July!

Included in the festivities are a free concert, free food, free childrens' activities, and FIREWORKS!

Gates open at 5:30 pm, first band starts at 6:pm.
