Soldiers' Connection is getting ready for the Holidays

The Holidays are drawing near and the ladies at Soldier's Connection are getting ready to send out Christmas care packages to our Soldiers.

I spoke to the lovely Jean Adcock today and she said they are sending 300 packages out this season. One thing the Soldiers look forward to receiving is home baked goods. If you would like to contribute non-perishable home-baked goodies to send to our hard-working military please have them ready by November 18th. (of course, other items are gladly accepted as well! Go here to check out the Soldiers' wish list)

Your donations can be delivered to:

American Legion Post 233
4635 Atlanta Hwy
Loganville, GA 30052

Items are accepted Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5:PM - 9:PM and Sundays 12:PM - 4:PM

Please remember the Soldiers that protect our freedom this and every Christmas while there away from their families, and remember to thank Jean, Anitia and all the other wonderful ladies who put forth their time and effort to make sure these packages get to our Military.

Soldier's Connection - Taking care of our Military

As Americans, we are always looking to give back to the needy here at home and internationally. Soldier's Connection based in Loganville is always looking for ways to help our Military. While I was at Saturday evening's Car Show in Grayson, I had the honor of meeting Jean Kelley who is a big part of this great organization.

Jean prepares donated items for our troops for shipping to Iraq and Afghanistan every 3 weeks. She and her team assemble approximately 60 packages altogether. The funds for the packages come from a variety of means such as the Car Show proceeds and booths set up at festivals or local stores. Items for the packages are donated from various sources including individual citizens, Churches and local businesses and organizations.

How can you help?

You can let our troops know we haven't forgotten their hard work and sacrifices by making a tax-deductible donation in monetary form or by providing items for the packages such as baby wipes, hand sanitizer, chewing gum and sunblock. Take a look at the Soldier's Needs List for more information.

Your donations can be delivered to:

American Legion Post 233
4635 Atlanta Hwy
Loganville, GA 30052

Items are accepted Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 5:PM - 9:PM and Sundays 12:PM - 4:PM.

Be sure to thank Jean and her team for all they do when you stop by!
