Wild West Family Restaurant (formerly Wild West Barbecue, 5400 Hwy 20 in Loganville) opened 3 weeks ago in Downtown Monroe.

...so I headed to Wild West  for lunch on Friday and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is cozy, decor is simple and they have a big screen TV! The place is clean and the service is great-fast and friendly. The menu is simple.

Since it was my lunch hour, I had the $6.49 lunch special - Pork Chops, Mashed Potatoes and Collard Greens (included a biscuit and iced tea). Much to my surprise, the pork chops were incredible! They were deep-fried...lightly breaded on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and thick! The mashed potatoes were fresh, not flakes. They could use a little more butter, but still enjoyable. The collards were great!
I ordered a dessert to take home with me for later - Peach Cobbler..not too sweet, just right.

I'll be back for more, and I suggest you try them, too!

I ate lunch there Sunday after church. A great meal for $6.49.
Choice of 1 meat, 2 sides, bread,
and tea or coffee. Meat choices were meatloaf, chicken & dumplings or fried chicken. A good varity of vegetables to choose from. Best new place to eat at.
